    👋 Introduce Yourself!

New here? Welcome! We’re glad you found your way to the NORAMARK Community — the home base for U.S. manufacturers, buyers, builders, and trade orgs.

This is a place to make connections that matter.

    ⸻

    🔧 How to Introduce Yourself:

Reply below with a few things about you! Here are some starter questions:
    • Who are you and where are you located?
    • What does your company make or specialize in?
    • Are you here to buy, build, supply, learn, or something else?
    • What’s one challenge you’re currently facing — or one thing you’re excited about?
    • Link to your NORAMARK manufacturer or trade org profile (if you have one)!

    ⸻

    🧲 Example:

Hi! I’m Sam from Cleveland, OH. I run a second-gen family shop that specializes in precision CNC for aerospace. Found NORAMARK through a trade org partner. Looking to connect with folks doing additive or hybrid manufacturing. Our NORAMARK profile: https://www.noramark.com/noramark-tier-1-demo-1/

    ⸻

🎉 Don’t be shy — your first post gets you your first badge.

We can’t wait to meet you!

    My name is Michael
I have always liked machines and trucks. This probably started my fascination with manufacturing.
Over the years I have seen a lot of old American businesses close due to work being sent overseas.
We need to stop the bleeding.
The first step is to get American manufacturers connected with each other so we can all learn and support each other.
    This is why NORAMARK exists.

Hey y'all, Dennis here! Lifelong tinkerer turned product designer. Always been fascinated by how things are made.
Co-founded a small company years ago called SyncFab, a marketplace focused on local manufacturing for Aerospace and Defense. Learned a ton over the years, and I am now focused on issues around compliance.
Like Michael mentioned, I've seen American manufacturers getting the short end of the stick from big orgs over the years. Just here to learn and support however I can. Cheers!

I’m Sonia. I travel to China and tour their shops/manufacturing factory /technical training there. I think if we are making stuff in the US we have a lot to learn from China, since they have been doing it forever.

Hi Sonia, I've traveled quite a bit to China as well. Their capacity is impressive. However, it's important to remember that they didn't really start to industrialize until the late 1960s, early 1970s. Here in the US we've been doing it since the 1770s, and earlier.

I do think we need to re-learn the importance of building at home and we need to prioritize energy cost and materials costs... this is how China has really gotten ahead. I see a lot of the right things happening.

Out of curiosity, what brings you to China to tour factories?

@Andrew_Kornuta hi Andrew. I was born in China but made in USA. Haha. I travel all over China to visit DIY workshops and factories. Mostly on the east side. It’s so convenient to travel in China now.

Mike Payne here, I am an entrepreneurial executive blessed to find myself in my dream career. How did I get so lucky?

Out of college I worked in the software space, focused most specifically on manufacturers, and went through a few rounds of investment and eventually an exit. This experience early on in my career prompted two passions; business funding/transactions and manufacturing.

Over the last 20+ years I have had the humbling opportunity to assist in funding, starting, buying, managing and selling dozens of companies across multiple industries throughout Oklahoma and the region. Working mostly with closely held companies, I’ve been able to help dreams come true, overcome obstacles and make meaningful improvements in the professional and personal lives of entrepreneurs of all types.

Always having an eye on an opportunity to pursue my passion for manufacturing, the timing was right to jump in feet first and with a few trusted partners acquired a very successful regional precision CNC and Fabrication shop. Our mission at Hill is to Deliver Quality Parts. On Time. Every Time. It’s a lofty but important goal that requires daily improvements in what we do and how we do it. Our clients expect it and when we execute it creates growth and opportunity for our employees and all stakeholders.

Helping others is probably my biggest energizer, which has led me into podcasting over the past few years. I hope you will listen to MakingChips and Buy the Numbers and see if you learn anything from my guests or I. I won't ever claim to be an expert on anything, but I have been fortunate to see and do a lot of things, winners and losers, so if my experience teaches you something I am happy.

I am humbled that I get to live my professional dream and I always enjoy the opportunity to help others do the same. If you think I can help you I’m happy to share what I know!
