Did you know that NYC manhole covers are all made in India?

Seems insane considering the weight and bulk of shipping these, not to mention the number of steel foundries in the US. This is why we need tariffs!

I have seen this and thought about it for years.
Such a simple (and heavy) part to make I never understood why they would make them in India.
I would much rather see our tax dollars staying in the US
